Shareholder activism

Shareholders can vote on decisions about how companies they hold stocks in change and grow.

Shareholder activism is all about exercising that right in order to protect our investments and our ethical, social and environmental principles.

In this section:

• Download our activism policy and find out how we ask our investment managers to vote on our behalf.
• Companies we invest in need to be well run. Read our latest report on corporate governance.
• The companies we invest in should be accountable for their effect on society and the environment. Read our latest report on socially responsible investment.

Investment managers

We currently use a number of external investment management companies to make the day-to-day decisions associated with our investments. You can find out more about the companies we use and the decisions they make in the investment strategy section of this site.
