Deferred members

If you leave local government, or move to an employer who’s not part of the Local Government Pension Scheme, you can’t keep paying in to the same pension. This doesn’t mean that everything you’ve paid in so far has been lost. There are several things you can do with your pension, which are outlined in this section.

In this section of the site:
• Find out what you can do with your pension when you leave the scheme.
• Learn how you’ll receive your deferred pension
• Work out how much your pension increases while it’s deferred
• Protect your family if you die
• Download our deferred members newsletter, In Touch, and read the latest news on the Fund’s performance
• Find the answers to your frequently asked questions
