2009 annual benefit statements and Pensionnews

86,800 of our members who are still working in local government will be mailed with their 2009 annual benefit statements over the next three weeks.

59,200 of our pensioner members will be mailed with their annual newsletter, Pensionnews, next week.

Our members still working in local government have also recently received their annual newsletter, Fundnews, and a new Guide to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The 2009 annual benefit statements include a State Pension Forecast. The statements also show the effect of the introduction on 1 April 2009 of the New Local Government Pension Scheme.

If your salary is different to the salary used on your benefit statement our Benefit Calculator can be used to estimate your retirement benefits based on your current pay.

Our latest campaign to encourage members to stay in the pension scheme and to encourage local government employees to join the pension scheme is also getting underway.

The campaign theme is “the in crowd” and it will be rolled out in posters, payslip inserts, staff magazines and on contributing employer intranets.

December is going to be a very busy month for the Strathclyde Pension Fund Office, as we are not only issuing these major member communications but are expecting an unprecedented amount of work associated with redundancy retirements from a number of councils.

If you haven’t received your statement or newsletter by 5 January 2010, it could be that we do not hold an address for you, or that we have an incorrect one for you.

You can view Fundnews or Pensionnews by clicking on the links.

If you want to contact us, just click on the second left button at the top right of each page on this website.

If you have questions about any of the communications, please bear in mind that the Strathclyde Pension Fund Office will be closed from Dec 25 2009 to 4 January 2010 inclusive.
