Strathclyde Pension Fund held its 2007 Annual Meeting in the Strathclyde Suite of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday 22nd June 2007.
The meeting - similar to an AGM - is an important part of the Fund’s communications strategy which ensures it is accountable to its members.
177 delegates representing employees, employers, trade unions and pensioners attended and heard a variety of speakers give a series of presentations on issues topical to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in general, and the Fund in particular.
Senior pension fund office staff formally presented the 2006/07 Fund Accounts, Investment Report and Administration Report.
Guest speakers were:
- Alison Murray from actuaries Hymans Robertson who gave a presentation on changes to the LGPS; and
- Douglas McDowell from investment managers, Baillie Gifford, who presented a study of investment market behaviour.
Feedback from delegates was extremely positive.
